Fragments Poem:  Normal

Normal they all say, Normal I wonder. Normal– normalcy I shudder, to be it I wonder: A mask? I inquire.

To be it, Normal I wither at Normal what is that Ah, a spec-tator.

Normal is safety, Normal is unseen, Normal I say what the hell is that? Again I enquire to reconcile the fact of that which Nor-mal.

I know and don’t know I see and unsee, Normal perceived is one of a kind, a group where individuals go to die.

Normal believed is another side. Of what is it to be it, a belief in it?

What moral in geophy low may be absurd in the mountains.

Normal is perceived in places not in hearts, Normal they say, I say what is that? They ask in reply what does that mean for you?

Art n’ heart-  Normal is not!

It is very hard to even conceive normal as an absolute thing as it is so to consider morals an absolute thing, as in something that is.  Can we say something like “To normal is…”? No we must add be and we must lose is “Be normal.” So we may say it is a state of being this way or that. Yet there is two normals the normal that is for the one and the normative that is that which social behaviour remarks as normal.

Yet for all this and all that it is the non-normative the spontaneous acts that always change things. Those acts for better or worse change things, both of a sense of self what is normal for one and in a collective senses- what is normal for us. Of both an endless essay could be rung, though given we all have lives to lead, that can be unpacked another day.

It is so that normal changes from day to day, life to life, city to city, group to group. What is normal for I may be different to you yet what is normal for us may be different for them. It in that cacophony life becomes worth it. That in inspection may be the most moral of thing of it all, that normal as is- is already.

It may be that we simply try and change to much, the us beaded on I, aye that is a folly yet aye that is normal? Group at this part become not a we no, they became a legion a one and an I want and damnation to all the rest. That is the sad Normal of a life in the twenty first century. The irony both beautiful and tragic, I can’t even describe.

A wise fellow once said hell is other people, another once said heaven and hell are within us all. I think they are both right. Hence the respectability is yours. Another fellow once said, be the change you wish to see, that sadly is not Normal, not common. That dear reader is the comedy, to see a need if change yet paradox tells us we can only change ourselves.

So as God once said to me;

So hold on!

In the darkest night

In anger

In rage

I challenged the God

Humble me

He did

He brought me low

He raised me up

He took his time

Oh, what luck

A life to lead

A life to write

A life to help

Bring the light

A life to do

What is right

He told this

One starry night

Meet your potential

All will be right

Accept what you have

Help those in need

Love your neighbours

Love nature indeed

A life wasted

Is a life not lived

Live it

Be the good

Do it
