What is it that makes a globalist? There’s globalism the recognition that the technology has effectively shrunk distance by making it easier and quicker to cross vast distances. A globalist thinks that this enviably means that a Global Government is necessary. Which it may very well do. However, what does that mean for the ordinary man? What does a Global Government actually involve?
Fist it would involve the centralization of power on a global scale something more powerful than United Nations, nations would become as states, a Global Government would become something so massive that it becomes beyond reproach disenfranchising peoples of nations both historically and currently. A Global Government would offer very little in the way of representative government, we all thanks to Star Trek and have this view of Global Governance that is virtually utopian the reality is that as power seeks to control and tends towards tyranny a Global Government would hold so much power that even the idea of reproach would be so farfetched that no one could even conceive of it. Too it would much harder to origins and hold such a government to account for misuse of power.
So, it is that it would mean for the ordinary man a less say in what happens in his own nation state in an individuals own life going form one person in say sixty million to one in over seven billion. The individuals personal life would become tied to people thousands of miles away. The central authority would detached from locality and be so influenced by the needs of ideals of other nation states. Let us take for example Japan and the United states, in Japan the prevailing culture is one of conformity where as in the United states it is or rather was the culture of liberty, how could those two cultures co-exist under the same government? They are polar opposites of each other.
Even if we look at the European Union, to get a glimpse of exactly what a Global Government would look like, with no direct democracy and exorbitant costs, no real say for the individual in policy or law’s, so problematic and counter intuitive to the needs of its member states as they are called. So detached from the people and what is important to them that Britain left the Union, thus the EU labeled Britain a rouge state. In a truly Global Government such decent would be impossible and nations populations that were disenfranchised would have no recourse, to change such a super government is an impossible task, no one would be able to fight it and win. That is the reason Britain left the EU, its people felt disenfranchised and could not effect meaningful change in areas that effect their own lives, areas such as law, farming, fishing, business, industry and borders.
Look at us now we can barely respect individual nation wishes what then would we be like in a Global Government? Too, I think a distinction can be made between a global order and a global government, I question wither we truly need a Global Government as popular opinion in many nations might suggest. We have organizations such as the World Trade Organization and The UN are these bodies not enough to cover the two major arias that would help garner peace while providing nations the right to self determination?
What are your thoughts dear reader, am I to harsh? Have I missed the point? What are your thoughts on a Global Government remembering that government is Synonymous with control and all control tends to word tyranny. that a Global Government means a Global Culture.
